Eligible self-employed people and personal employees can apply for their own Enhanced or Enhanced with Barred List(s) DBS Check, provided their role meets the DBS eligibility criteria.
For an employee, the employer can check the original identity documents. Self-employed people and personal employees must arrange for an authorised independent verifier to check their original documents. Applicants cannot verify their own documents.
All submitted information will be checked by your dedicated caseworker to ensure the correct level of check has been requested and DBS guidelines have been followed.
