Please be aware that this service is for details of an individual’s unspent criminal convictions (if they have any). It is also called a Criminal Record check, a Police Check or Police Clearance, and is issued by the DBS

DBS Checks For Employers & Self-Employed
Employers can apply for Basic, Standard, Enhanced or Enhanced with Barred List(s) DBS Checks for their employees, depending on the role. Eligible self-employed people and personal employees can also apply for their own Enhanced or Enhanced with Barred List(s) DBS Check.
The role and duties must meet the DBS eligibility criteria. Being self-employed does not automatically make an applicant eligible for an Enhanced Check.
The applicant’s original identity documents must be checked by an employer or authorised independent verifier.
All submitted information will be checked by your caseworker to ensure the correct level of check has been requested and DBS guidelines have been followed.
Which Level Of DBS Check Do You Need?
Basic DBS Checks are available to anyone. Standard DBS Checks must be requested by an eligible employer or organisation. Enhanced DBS Checks are also available to eligible self-employed people and personal employees.
